Thanks to artificial intelligence (AI), the new and freely accessible web application
allows users to browse through over 22,000 images from
travelogues about the Ottoman Empire that were printed between 1501
and 1850 and survived in the holdings of the Austrian National Library.
The presentation reveals how the tool was created and discusses possible
applications for the computer sciences and the humanities.
